Solvara Knitwear aims to create fun and feminine patterns for the experienced knitter. For us, knitting is just as much about the process, as it is about the finished garment. Therefore, our patterns feature a wide range of different techniques and constructions.
Our patterns are currently available in English, Danish, and Faroese.
Solvara Knitwear is a one woman show, run by 26 year old Katrin Sølvará.
Katrin grew up in the Faroe Islands, a country with a long and rich knitting history. She was taught to knit by her grandmother, Ingun, when she was a young teenager.
During the lockdown of 2020, Katrin created Solvara Knitwear, with the aim to create interesting knitting patterns for the experienced knitter. Her designs are influenced by her Faroese upbringing, combining traditional techniques such as cable-knitting and colourwork with more modern silhouettes and colour choices.
